Biography
- Barry Franklin, Ph.D., FACSM, is the program director of cardiac rehabilitation and exercise laboratories at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan, a position he has held since 1985. He is also professor of physiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He is a past president of the American College of Sports Medicine (1999-2000), and the former editor-in-chief of the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. One of the most prolific writers and respected health/fitness professionals in the field, Dr. Franklin has authored or co-authored over 300 scholastic papers, abstracts, chapters, and books.
