Diabetes Disease Management in the Workplace: The East Alabama Medical Center Experience provides an overview of the steps undertaken to implement an employer-based diabetes disease management program at EAMC. The DVD looks at the positive clinical outcomes and the decrease in the number of medical claims that evolved from the program. The DVD also explores the ongoing evaluation processes that were instituted to monitor the program, as well as discusses future opportunities in diabetes disease management.

Biography
- Kathe Briggs, is the manager of Health Promotion & Disease Management at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. In this role, she is responsible for inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient diabetes education, employee disease management, and wellness efforts for EAMC employees. Since assuming her present position in mid-1999, Briggs has implemented tobacco cessation and pulmonary rehabilitation services at EAMC, as well as achieved program certification for the EAMC Cardiac Rehabilitation Services and Cardiac Treatment Center. Prior to serving on the staff at EAMC, Briggs was the director of the Finley Ewing Cardiovascular and Fitness Center of Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
